DA-REACH

Deployment and Advancement of Responsive Extension in Agriculture for Community Holistic Development (DA-REACH) -- bringing responsive agricultural extension services closer to farmers, fishers, and rural communities.

The DA-REACH Program is a community-based initiative of the Department of Agriculture (DA) through the Agricultural Training Institute, which aims to bring agricultural services, information, and support closer to farmers, fishers, and rural communities. It aims to establish the local agricultural extensionist to complement the agriculture and fisheries services provided by the Local Government Units (LGUs).

The program focuses mainly on:

  • Capacity development of DA Contract of Service and Job Order personnel to serve as community-based technical facilitators and field advisers.
  • Standardization and efficiency of DA's extension services across the country.
  • Deployment of these trained personnel at the community level.
