Hi Chris. Is the land low or upland? If upland I would look at high value crop but not prone to wind damage. The only crop I can think of is pineapple or maybe black pepper. You can buy seeds of pineapple in nearby town of Calauan or in Cavite. For black pepper it would be in Lipa or even Tanauan. You can plant pineapple in the beginning and  plant pepper in between.  This is my 10 year experience in my farm (2hectares) in south Cotabato.

Hope this can help. FVelasquez

Hello Sean!

A 6-hectare idle land is quite big and can be maximized by planting different crops suitable in your area.

You can start with cash crops, like vegetables in a small part of your land. Some vegetables are ready for harvest in less than a month.

May I also recommend to you our online courses that can be very useful. By enrolling, you will have an idea on what to plant in your land.

I hope you find our online courses interesting. Thank you and happy e-Learning!

Hi Sean

6 Hectares is quiet a big piece of land. Not a lot of people in this forum would actually recommend this but try looking at Permaculture. Here is a link to start you with http://www.geofflawton.com

I hope you'll find Permaculture interesting.
